What you should know before joining a startup

To work at a Startup?

 

If you dedicate yourself to the world of innovation, surely, more than once you have posed this question, because in general, the environment of a growing company that wants to break the conventional paradigms, represents a radical change in professional development of anyone who decides to do it.

 

Here I will not tell you about whether it is good or bad, because each head is a world and my intention on this occasion is only to share what I have learned over the past 12 years of collaborating with a team of disruptive beings, that not only are looking for a job, but the job of their lives.

 

From the beginning, the fact of looking not only for facilities, but also for dynamics that offer a different experience for collaborators, is a challenge that should be proposed by all those who intend to start on this hard and full of satisfaction path. We must achieve more intimate spaces and generate empathy among the community, which has different activities and functions, because at the end of the day, they are creating thousands of solutions because they believe in them, because they believe in those around them.

 

What does it take?

 

In general, a startup works with very small teams, with which the relations between the employees tend to narrow considerably. If we add to that a space that gives them life and work experiences; a space where the important thing is how far you can throw your mind, how much skill you have to land dreams and start the construction of a project, surely you will have a feeling of belonging much greater than you can have in almost any other job.

 

An important part of achieving this experience and that, in addition to everything, is lasting, requires seeking as founder and guide, the welfare of each one, which will result in a collective harmony; develop in your team the ability to adapt to new scenarios, and the resolution of problems; give way to the exchange of ideas and the use of creative minds, question the environment, investigate responsibly, give authenticity to projects and respect their essence.

 

As you will see, it is not an easy life, not for everyone. It is a great sacrifice, which requires an even greater commitment. But, as I mentioned above, my intention is not to convince you that the best job of your life will be in a startup. The only thing I can tell you is that the highs, lows, joys and pressures that my team and I experience every day make our venture builder an extraordinary place.
